Bill and Melinda Gates are ending their 27-year marriage.
The couple announced the news A statement posted on Twitter On Monday, they said that as they plan to continue working together at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, they no longer believe they can move forward as a couple.
According to Forbes, Gates cofounded Microsoft in 1975 with Paul Allen, which is valued at $ 130.5 billion. He is one of only eight moguls worth more than $ 100 billion and is currently the fourth richest person in the world.
Over the years, Gates has made some spectacular purchases: He owns a $ 125 million Washington property, a private airplane, and a luxury-car collection. Recently, he dropped $ 43 million on a 5,800-square-foot home in Del Mar, California. But this indulgence is only a part of his big fortune, and Gates is not known to throw away his money.
In fact, the couple first said that it is unfair. They are very rich. Instead of spending billions on themselves, they often donate it through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He has also promised to do most of his work through the Giving Pledge, which he launched in 2010.
