UAE Eid al-Fitr 2021: Kovid Security Rules Announced – News

UAE residents can get up to five days from this Eid al-Fitr.

UAE residents have been asked to avoid family visits and ceremonies during the blessed occasion of Eid al-Fitr. Eid celebrations should be limited to members of the same family who live in the same house, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced on Tuesday 4 May.

These were among the many Kovid security regulations announced by the authority. Eid is expected to fall on Wednesday, May 12 or Thursday, May 13, depending on when the crescent moon appears.

Greetings should be exchanged electronically and not in person.

Neighbors and family members should not gift each other or share food.

The popular tradition of giving cash or gifts (Idiya) should be avoided. If they are necessary, the cash should be transferred to bank accounts.

UAE residents can get up to five days from this Eid al-Fitr.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources announced today that the break of Eid will be from Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3.
